Start Using AI Today

If you can use WhatsApp, you can use AI — and save hours every day.

AI is no longer only for tech companies. As of 2025, capable AI tools are available to every business owner, many of them free, and they can save hours of work a day. If you can use WhatsApp, you can use AI.

General-purpose AI assistants (most have free tiers) write professional emails, marketing copy, and proposals, translate content into Indian languages, and summarise long documents. Ask plainly — 'Write a follow-up email to a customer who visited but didn't buy' — and the results are genuinely useful.

Beyond text, AI categorises expenses in accounting tools, answers routine queries on WhatsApp Business 24/7, and generates product images. This platform itself, the BCCI Digital Toolkit, was built with AI — code and content alike.

How to do it

  1. 1

    Open a free AI assistant

Sign up for any general-purpose AI assistant (free options below) and create an account. You are ready in under a minute.

  2. 2

Give it context about your business

Start prompts with who you are: 'I run a [business] in [city].' The more context you give, the more relevant and usable the answer.

  3. 3

Use it for daily writing tasks

Draft customer emails, social captions, product descriptions, and replies to reviews. Translate between English and Indian languages. Always read and edit before sending.

  4. 4

    Automate routine customer queries

Set up an AI chatbot on WhatsApp Business to answer common questions — hours, prices, location — around the clock, freeing you for real conversations.

  5. 5

    Verify anything that matters

AI can be confidently wrong. Check figures, legal points, and tax claims against an official source before you rely on them.

Tools you can use

These are widely used options for this step. The toolkit is an independent Bombay Chamber initiative and does not endorse any single product — compare them and pick what fits your business.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Sending AI output to customers without reading and correcting it first.
  • Trusting figures or legal and tax claims without checking an official source.
  • Pasting confidential customer or financial data into public AI tools.
  • Giving one-line prompts with no context and then judging the tool by the vague reply.

Frequently asked questions

Is AI free to use?

Several general-purpose assistants have capable free tiers that cover most small-business needs. Paid plans add speed and advanced features you may not need at first.

Will AI give me accurate answers?

Often, but not always. Treat it as a fast first draft and verify anything important — numbers, law, tax — against an official source before acting.

Is it safe to put my business data into AI tools?

Avoid pasting confidential customer or financial data into public tools. Use general questions, or choose business plans with data-protection guarantees for sensitive work.
